Fun Florida Travel Experiences

Exciting and fun Florida travel experiences are probably few and far between for most people, but while you're visiting the beautiful Sunshine State you will discover that there is plenty to see and do. Millions have visited Orlando, with Disney World being the prime spot or maybe the family preferred Universal Studios instead. However, when you learn to “Think Outside the Mouse” you will find so much history, quiet small town charm, natural beauty in forests and beaches, and all the fun you could want.

Much of the fun and excitement in your Florida travel may come with visiting the smaller towns and cities throughout the state, as well as relaxing on some of the most scenic beaches found anywhere in the entire United States. Bradenton, Sebring, and Tarpon Springs are three prime examples of the smaller cities located throughout Florida that bring out the state’s charm and beauty!

Things to do in Bradenton

Visiting the city of Bradenton and everything that it offers is truly a fun, Florida travel experience. Several local parks dot the area, and the downtown area is gorgeous! The Ringling Museum offers a unique experience for those interested in circus life and history.

Bradenton also boasts many unique stores and restaurants that you will surely enjoy visiting, including Anna Maria Oyster Bar, Broadway Café, and The Twin Dolphin Marina with Mattison’s Riverside Restaurant which offers an incredible view of Manatee River while you eat.

Visiting Sebring

Sebring is another small-town setting that offers fun and excitement for everyone. Sebring has several attractions that are perfect for families, couples, and anyone that has a knack for exploring while enjoying their Florida travel adventures!

First, Sebring’s Lost Mines of Atlantis is a great attraction that offers the unique experience to go through an authentic mining flume where you can try to find rare gems and other stones! Second, Highlands Hammock State Park is a gorgeous area to visit and is known for Hammock Inn Restaurant and Wild Orange Ice Cream.

And, for the race car enthusiast historical Sebring International Raceway is America’s premier sports car racing facility. The raceway is the oldest permanent road racing track in North America having evolved from a World War II air base. Celebrities Steve McQueen, James Brolin, Gene Hackman, Craig T. Nelson, Paul Newman and Patrick Dempsey have all driven at Sebring.

Lighthouse Point Park

Our third recommendation for fun in the Sunshine State is Lighthouse Park in Ponce Inlet, about 12 miles south of Daytona Beach. The lighthouse is a National Historic Landmark, with a museum and gift shop close by. Ponce de Leon Inlet connects the Atlantic Ocean to the Halifax River. The park area is perfect for picnicking, relaxing, and enjoying the beach. And you won’t be disappointed if you visit the Lighthouse Landing restaurant when it’s time to eat.

Taking the time to enjoy unique Florida travel experiences will give you fun, incredible, memorable experiences no matter which area you decide to visit. From the small town charm of Ponce Inlet all the way to a mining flume and state park that offers Wild Orange Ice Cream, having fun will be an easy thing to do!

What we have presented here is just a very small sampling of the hundreds of towns and cities scattered throught the Sunshine State. From Key West to Tallahassee and St. Augustine to Pensacola you can’t go wrong with your travel plans. Remember to bring your camera.
