Maine Travel Promises Adventure and Incomporable Beauty
Avid photographers will discover that Maine photography promises fantastic panoramas and ocassional wildlife closeups such as fox, deer,
moose or black bears
Outdoor life is a way of life for many of the locals and their homes and lifestyles show it. Born and raised in Bangor, my wife Kathy now prefers the more temperate Florida climate but is seen frequently getting off an airplane wearing Birkenstocks and a smile to visit family and friends.
My personal favorite locations are the numerous coastal communities with their rugged rocky beaches. If you are more into mountainous areas then you can't go wrong with a visit to Cadillac Mountain at Acadia National Park near Bar Harbor where you can enjoy spectacular panoramas encompassing both eastern
Maine mountains and its rocky coastline. Or take the scenic route to Mt. Katahdin located about 25 miles northwest of the town of Millinocket.
Truly a four seasons state incredible photo opportunities are offered up all year long. Probably most popular are the autumn months when annual visitors are in awe of the brilliant colors on display as the leaves change to red, yellow, orange and eventually brown with trees prepareing for the winter snow and ice.
While visiting this spectacular state don't forget to take a trip Downeast to one of the coastal towns such as Boothbay Harbor to enjoy the succulent taste of fresh lobster.
Or better yet try to catch the annual lobster festival in Rockland. Downeasters legitimately boast having some of
the best and most enjoyable seafood anywhere in the world.
